‘Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse’ Gets Homage Variants From Greg Land
by Tony Thornley
Superstar artist Greg Land may be an acquired taste, but there’s no denying that he draws pretty women. That talent is on display in a series of pin-up style covers for the just-announced Gwenverse miniseries.

Seven years ago, Spider-Gwen- the Spider-Woman of Earth-65, debuted in Edge of Spider-Verse #2. The character was an instant hit. The issue had multiple variants, including one by Land. Now he returns to the character to homage his own classic cover, and to reimagine Gwen in a few other iconic costumes.
Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse by Tim Seeley and Jodi Nishijima takes a simple concept to build Gwen’s biggest adventure to date. Years ago, on Earth-65, Gwen Stacy was bitten by a radioactive spider to become Spider-Woman. But what if she was born a mutant? Or injected with the super-soldier serum? Invented a high-tech suit of armor?
Though we don’t know much more about Gwenverse than that, we’ll definitely keep an eye out for more information. In the meantime, check out Land’s variants, and be sure to pick up Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse in February!
