The Best Bounty Hunter In The Galaxy Makes A Surprising Declaration In ‘Book Of Boba Fett’ Tease
by Erik Amaya
Known as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, Boba Fett (Temeura Morrison) makes a surprising declaration in this tease for The Book of Boba Fett. Instead of resuming his old life now that he has his armor back, he tells a group of Jabba the Hutt’s former associates that he is “the crime lord now.” Is there more to this decision? The following preview only offers some action as Fett and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) start the fight to take over the old Hutt dynasty.
According to executive producer Robert Rodriguez, the trailers and special look videos are only utilizing footage from the first twenty minutes of the debut episode. It makes sussing out Fett’s real motivations tough. We still suspect there may be other things going on. For one, his claim to Mandalorian heritage is still up in the air and, we imagine, offering to bankroll the liberation of Mandalore with underworld loot may help convince Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) to recognize him.
Then again, it is possible — like his father before him — that he’s just trying to make his way in the galaxy and taking Jabba’s throne is the best possible career move in the New Republic era. No matter his motives, though, it is clear this will cause a lot of grief on Tatooine and, potentially, elsewhere. Maybe the series will finally take live action Star Wars to Nar Shaddaa, the epicenter of organized crime (and satellite of the Hutt homeworld) according to various video games.
The Book of Boba Fett debuts Wednesday on Disney+.
