‘LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’ Gets A New Release Date And Trailer
by Sage Ashford
Traveler’s Tales and Warner Bros. Games have had to delay LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga several times. But it looks like that’s finally over, as the game’s latest trailer comes with a new release date. The new preview is a gameplay overview discussing players’ ability to choose between all three of the Star Wars trilogies, as well as the game’s combat system, which includes on-foot and ship combat.
The trailer makes the game look truly massive, and this is clearly a game that may take quite some time to do everything, with plenty of different planets for players to visit, upgrades to gain, and characters to meet — even outside of the usual storyline.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga releases April 5th for consoles and PC. However, it’s worth saying that just before this trailer dropped, a feature article from Polygon released detailing the crunch that the developers at TT Games have been going through for several years. The article details not only the studio’s “crunch culture,” but the toxic conditions the workers have been under. As good as this game looks, it’s also important to understand the human cost that goes into these titles. As games become bigger and more detailed, they demand a greater and greater cost of man-hours, and often higher-ups at development studios are eager to get them out without care of what it does to the people who are working on them.
