The Race To Save Gideon Is On When ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Returns
by Erik Amaya
Like the rest of the Arrowverse (and nearby DC superhero shows on The CW), Legends of Tomorrow is taking the next two weeks off. When it returns, though, the team gathers to help Gideon (Amy Pemberton) and stop the evil Gideon (also Pemberton). But with only two episode left after the break, will it finally be curtains for the Legends?
This week’s episode certainly teased some of that finality with Sara (Caity Lotz) accepting her fate in the time loop without any fuss. Thankfully, Nate (Nick Zano) worked out a quick fix — but you have to wonder if the Time Wraiths will really accept his evil robot doppelgänger as the protector of the 1914 fixed point. Meanwhile, Sara’s willingness to become that protector suggests a fatigue with traveling. In fact, the sensation that people are ready to settle down in 2022 has permeated the entire season. The fate of the show is still up in the air, but should it return for Season 8, will it do so with a huge change to the cast list?
Meanwhile, the news that Donal Faison will be joining the program for its March finale as someone who chases “fame, fortune, and glory” has plenty of people online suggesting its finally Booster Gold’s time to join the Waverider. Both the character and actor would be a huge get and a great opportunity for the show to do a soft reboot. Well, maybe a feather-light reboot as there are current Legends we’d hate to see leave.
Legends of Tomorrow returns February 23rd on The CW.
