A new competitor has arrived to the manga scene in MangaPlaza, a new digital manga website that will launch with almost 50,000 chapters from over 2,000 different series.  Created by NTT Solmare Corp, a company known for their dating simulation game Obey Me! for mobile, MangaPlaza looks to be the exact kind of forward thinking website that manga needs to continue expanding.

Starting day one they’ll be offering major series from publishers like Kodansha and Kadokawa, with series like Attack on Titan, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, already available on the service. MangaPlaza won’t just be limited to the major series though, instead offering from a wide variety of genre, with their launch video touting shounen, shoujo, seinen, josei, and LGBT+ manga. The site is also not limited to modern series, offering classics like Air Gear, Basilisk, and Battle Angel Alita as well.

People curious about subscribing can enjoy a free seven day trail by registering at the web site, but even after that runs out most of the series on the site will offer at least one chapter for free for people curious. Afterwards, the service will allow unlimited access to everything on the site for $6.99 a month. For people who just want to engage in a single series though people can do so without a subscription, with the site charging from $.45 to $3.99 depending on the series.

Currently, MangaPlaza and NTT Solmare Corp are also offering $10 Amazon gift cards to 301 registrants who register in March to celebrate the site’s March 1st launch.
