Time Bomb Comics And Anderson Entertainment Join Forces For A New Deal To Bring Back Classic Gerry Anderson Franchises To Comics
by Richard Bruton
Announced earlier, Time Bomb Comics and Anderson Entertainment have come together to bring back classic Gerry Anderson titles to comics – starting with a brand-new Spectrum Anthology featuring brand-new versions of classic Anderson serials – Captain Scarlet, Space Precinct and Terrahawks.

In a deal brokered by Larkshead Licensing, Time Bomb Comics (publishers of Harker, Flintlock, and many more fine Brit comics) and Anderson Entertainment announce the first comic in a new deal to bring back classic Anderson series to the comics page – the 44-page comic anthology Spectrum featuring three cult titles from the mind of prolific creator Gerry Anderson: New Captain Scarlet, Space Precinct and Terrahawks.
So many Anderson fans out there must surely have been looking at the resurgence of many great UK Comics through the Treasury of British Comics and wondering just when their turn would come. Well, they get their favourites back in 2022 with the announcement of Spectrum, coming to Kickstarter
Inside, there’s new Captain Scarlet facing off against the Mysterions once more, classic space battles in Terrahawks, and finally a revival of the 1990s series Space Precinct.
The creative teams for the new anthology are Steve Tanner (writer), Pete Woods (artist) and James Grey (letters) on New Captain Scarlet; Richmond A Clements (writer) and James Grey (art and
lettering) on Space Precinct; and Dan Whitehead (writer), Ste Pickford (artist) and James Grey (lettering) on Terrahawks. And it’s all under that gorgeous cover from Steve Pugh.
The whole project has been overseen and approved by Jamie Anderson, Managing Director and CCO of Anderson Entertainment, and son of Gerry Anderson. It’s also a landmark collaboration for Time Bomb Comics’ 15th Anniversary Year.
“Spectrum marks the first licensed title released through Time Bomb Comics and I’m delighted it features characters and concepts that are truly warmly recognised around the world. Like many of my generation I grew up enjoying the television shows created by Gerry Anderson and I’m thrilled that we’ve partnered with Anderson Entertainment to create new stories featuring some of his most iconic shows.” – Time Bomb Comics chief, Steve Tanner
“New Captain Scarlet, Space Precinct, Terrahawks and Time Bomb Comics – what a combination! Seeing these three Anderson titles getting a new lease of life is a real thrill for me. The Time Bomb team has done a fantastic job of building out the worlds, keeping an authentic feeling to the stories, and making stunning-looking strips. I can’t wait for Anderson fans across the globe to enjoy these new stories!” – Anderson Entertainment chief, writer, producer and director, Jamie Anderson
Spectrum will be opening for pre-order sales on Kickstarter on 1 April 2022 with publication later in 2022.
The response across the social medias has been hugely positive since the announcement, with cover artist Steve Pugh adding this:
“Did a cover for this new Gerry Anderson comic organised by Dan Whitehead. Very aware I was stumbling in the tall shadows of heroes like Ron Embleton and Mike Noble! But how could I not grab the chance to draw these icons!?”
