Guilty Gear: -Strive- might not be the new hotness on the block anymore, but that doesn’t mean Arc System Works isn’t still supporting it. The season pass additions continue with classic Guilty Gear character Testament. Arc System Works has already added their profile onto Guilty Gear Strive’s home page:
“Testament was once human, before being surgically modified into a Gear. Under the control of the Conclave, they worked to revive Justice.
After the events of the Second Holy Order Selection Tournament, however, they regained their sense of self.
Feeling guilty, they hid in the Forest of Demons, before resolving to protect the half-Gear Dizzy from the humans who pursued her. Although this began as a way to atone for their sins, it ended up bringing back their human sensibility.
They now live with the elderly couple who once took care of Dizzy. This new life has brought them peace of mind, and they now enjoy their share of happiness.”
Interestingly (and awesomely), Testament’s character has received a bit of a re-work in design combined with the acknowledgement that the character is non-binary. To go along with that, Testament is voiced in the West by Kayleigh McKee, a transgender voice actress that’s also known for her work on Jujutsu Kaisen 0 as Yuka Okkotsu. Over in Japan, they’re being played by Yu Kobayashi, who plays Darli Dagger in Samurai Shodown.
Along with Testament comes new ‘Battle Stage, White House Reborn’. They’ll also be adding a Digital Figure Mode where players will be able to create scenes by posing characters and furniture however they want. Also coming is “Another Story”, which will add additional missions and feature characters who weren’t in the main story. “Another Story” will release sometime in April.
Lastly, the announcement of Testament also comes with the reveal that Guilty Gear -Strive- is gearing up to do a second season pass, this time featuring four additional characters.
Testament comes to Guilty Gear -Strive- March 28th.
