Clearly, The CW believes in Misha Collins.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Supernatural star has joined the Gotham Knights pilot as Gotham DA Harvey Dent. The actor even wrote on his Twitter account, “I’ve asked if my version of the character could be wearing a beige trench coat over the grey suit. (I’m just not sure I’ll be comfortable in front of a camera without one.)” The potential series, from Batwoman executive producers Natalie Abrams, James Stoteraux, and Chad Fiveash, will not be spinoff of that show or related to the Gotham Knights comic book or video game. Instead, it takes place in a Gotham City where the Batman is dead and his “rebellious adopted son” forms an “unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies” when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. Wanted by the GCPD, the group must fight to clear their names in a Gotham with no Dark Knight hovering over it. Presumably, Collins’s Dent — whether he wears a trench coat or not — will lead the charge against the Gotham Knights.
Oscar Morgan stars as Turner Hayes, the adoptive son of Batman at the center of the trouble. Additional cast includes Olive Rose Keegan, Fallon Smythe, Tyler DiChiara, and Navia Robinson as Carrie Kelly.
Gotham Knights is currently still just a pilot order, so it is possible it may still end up on the bench. But considering the network’s push for younger DC characters, the program may end up becoming a top priority. Also, the addition of a dependable network star like Collins suggests the show may soon end up on The CW’s schedule.
