Prom Night Goes Awry In A Preview Of Next Week’s ‘Naomi’

Despite all the shocks to Naomi’s (Kaci Walfall) psyche of late, there is one thing to look forward to: junior prom. She desperately wants it to be a normal night with Nathan (Daniel Puig), but as this preview for next week’s Naomi reveals, an impenetrable force-field threatens to incinerate the everyone in the school gymnasium. Definitely a situation worthy of the name “Worst Prom Ever.”
And, really, switching back to the high school setting is probably a good thing after Naomi played hooky this week to get lost in the Earth-29 of it all. On the one hand, it’s interesting to see a show dedicate so much time to a child getting legitimately angry at her parents (and for good reason), but a surplus of scenes in which just two people talked at other definitely slowed that great idea to a crawl — especially as just about every scene revolved around Naomi’s destiny. The weaving of the sci-fi ideas with the high school milieu early on in the season was something we really liked about the show, and hopefully next week will return to that mix.
