The Dance Of Dragons Begins In ‘House Of The Dragon’ Teaser

One of Westeros’s most pivotal times will be the focus of HBO’s upcoming House of the Dragon. And to prove it, the teaser released on Thursday focuses in on two things: legacy and the naming of Rhaenyra Targaryean (Emma D’Arcy) as the heir to the Iron Throne. And though Houses Stark, Velaryon, and Baratheon pledge themselves to her ascendancy, other Houses — and elements within House Targaryean itself — plot to stop her from sitting the throne. The political intrigue will lead to a conflict known as The Dance of Dragons and, hopefully, fuel a few good seasons of television. They’ve got dragons, after all.
Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans also star in the Game of Thrones prequel series. It is set to launch on August 21st.
