The Boys‘s untitled spinoff continues to morph.
According to Deadline, actors Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi have joined the cast as recurring characters. The new series centers on a Vought-run college and the lives of the “hormonal, competitive superheroes” who “put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test” and compete for “the best contracts in the best cities.” We previously called it a high-octane version of The Paper Chase. According to The Boys executive producer Eric Kripke, the program will be more like Mork & Mindy and its tonal shift from its parent show, Happy Days. But that shift may be more subtle (or more broad) than originally planned as creative and cast changes over the last six months following the departure of original showrunner Craig Rosenberg have led to a substantially different looking program. With former Agent Carter executive producers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters taking the helm, the program will feature Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann and Shelley Conn.
It is unclear when the series will start production — indeed, the delayed start led to a number of actors leaving the series — but we imagine it will happen soon so the program can fill one of the long months between The Boys. That program is set to return June 3rd on Prime Video.
