Here Is The Voice Of The Sandman In Netflix’s Geeked Week 2022 Trailer

by Erik Amaya

Netflix is having another Geeked Week next month, and with seasons of Sweet Tooth, The Umbrella Academy, Locke & Key, and Shadow and Bone coming up, it will be a packed four days of presentations and discussions about their genre offerings. And that’s before we get to The Sandman. As seen in the trailer below, the first true sound of Dream (Tom Sturridge) can be heard. It may not be the voice you expect, though.

Does he sound … American? That may be the biggest shock as The Sandman has always had a decidedly British tone to it. Of course, our ears may be mishearing. The program will chart the first few Sandman stories as told in the comics by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg, in which Dream’s countenance changes to J’onn J’onnz’s expectation of him. Maybe his voice is doing the same for our American ear. Time, of course, will tell.

And, presumably, we’ll get to hear more from Morpheus during Geeked Week, which will run from June 6th to the 10th.
