Alberto Mielgo Gives An In Depth Look Behind The Scenes of ‘Jibaro’

Director Alberto Mielgo (The Windshield Wiper) gives an in depth analysis behind the animation of Jibaro featured in Love, Death and Robots Vol. 3. The tail of a deaf knight encountering a dancing siren is given new context given Mielgo’s personal experience with toxic relationships. The film utilized live action references for characters and the environment but was completely modeled in GG. The cinematic quality of the animation speaks for itself. I hope that the film and others featured in the anthology will spark much needed conversation about the narrative potential of adult animation.
