In what might have been the oddest announcement for the summer, during a 10th Anniversary stream for Dragon’s Dogma, Dragon’s Dogma director Hideaki Itsuno announced Dragon’s Dogma 2 was in development.

The stream was meant to be a celebration of the original game, and explained how Itsuno came to be a fan of RPGs when he was younger. It details a bit about how much work he put into developing other games before Capcom allowed him to make the original Dragon’s Dogma, which he wanted to be more of an action RPG.

The end of the stream involved Itsuno and his development team pulling open their shirts to reveal Dragon’s Dogma 2 T-Shirts as a way of announcing that Dragon’s Dogma 2 was now in development. Dragon’s Dogma 2’s existence has been leaked twice before, first in the Capcom ransomware leak that broke in 2020, then in the nVidia GeForce leak the following year.  Both leaks had the game coming out in 2022, though judging from this reveal the game might actually be years off.
