Ubisoft Announces ‘Assassin’s Creed: Mirage’

Ubisoft has confirmed the next entry in their Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. The first new entry in the series since 2020’s Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Mirage has been rumored for over a year. Originally known by the code-name Assassin’s Creed Rift, this game was originally meant to be additional Valhalla DLC in which players take on the role of Basim before he joined the Hidden Ones.

Mirage is supposedly a back-to-basics approach to Assassin’s Creed, with much of the RPG elements removed in favor of the classic stealth style from original game. Additionally, the game will reportedly take place in 9th Century Baghdad. Originally meant for release sometime this year, Mirage was delayed in July, and now has a rumored release date of Spring 2023. We’ll learn more about this game when Ubisoft holds their Ubisoft Forward presentation on September 10th.
