During Netflix’s TUDUM Japan event, the company announced an adaptation of beloved Capcom franchise Onimusha. The series will be directed by Takashi Miike and Shinya Sugai, and coming from studio Sublimation (Dragon’s Dogma). The protagonist for the series will be Miyamoto Musashi, based on the late Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune. Currently, there’s no date for the release of this series, or any specifics beyond the initial announcement.
This isn’t the first time Capcom has tried to revive the Onimusha franchise. The company remastered the original game, Onimusha Warlords, back in 2019 for consoles and PC. Perhaps this is the next step on the path to getting a brand new Onimusha game?
