Adam Glass’ AfterShock Comics’ Series ‘The Normals’ Gets Optioned For Television

by Olly MacNamee

AfterShock Comics and its parent company AfterShock Media announces that Adam Glass’ series The Normals has been optioned by Werner Films for Australia’s SBS. The comic book series is to be executive produced by Werner Films’ Joanna Werner and Stuart Menzies alongside Glass and AfterShock’s Jon Kramer, Carrie Stein and Lee Kramer. Louise Fox will act as showrunner for the proposed series and Rive Gauche Television, an AfterShock Media company, will distribute it globally.

Here’s a reminder of what The Normals is all about:

“THE NORMALS is a rush-of-blood-to-the-head series centered around one man who finds out his perfect life and family may all be an illusion, setting him on a crusade to save what he believes is real and loves with all his being, while having to save the world in the process as forces seek to destroy him.”

And, here’s Adam Glass to explaining the concept further:

“Think about your ‘life’ for a moment – the people you’ve known, the ones you’ve loved, and all the stuff in between. Now imagine you learned it was all not real. That everything you believed, everything you lived, everything you felt, never happened and was nothing but a program. What would you do? Anything and everything to keep it.”

Look out for more news as the series develops. Although, I imagine it will take a while.
