Bring On The Bad Gwens In Peach Momoko’s ‘Spider-Gwen: Shadow Clones’ Designs

by Tony Thornley

One of the most interesting parts of the upcoming Spider-Gwen: Shadow Clones is the hero’s evil clone designs. They come from popular artist Peach Momoko and Marvel and revealed her design sheets.

In the recent Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse, Gwen Stacy of Earth-65 teamed with other multiversal heroic versions of herself. Now, in the follow-up series from Emily Kim and Kei Zama, she finds herself facing evil versions of herself and continuing her Spider-legacy, it’s also her own clone saga.

Momoko designed each of this new Sinister Six (though yes, there are only five of them), combining classic Spider-villain designs with Gwen’s own fashion and design trademarks. Even better these design sheets- depicting Gwen as Doc Ock, the Rhino, Kraven, Sandman and the Vulture- will be offered as variant covers for each five of the issues of the series.

“When designing the Gwen-villains, I wanted to make sure the original villain’s color palette was mainly used and give the energy, youth, and fun that Gwen represents,” Momoko explained.

Be sure to pre-order the series and pick up Spider-Gwen: Shadow Clones #1 in March!
