Time For ‘Monster Fun’ To Go Monthly!

by Richard Bruton

Monster Fun, the all-ages and kids comic from Rebellion has announced that it’s going monthly from June 2023.

The comic for 7-12-year-olds (although rather enjoyed by older readers as well) is full of plenty of great material, as we’ve shown you plenty of times right here at Comicon.

Monster Fun contains both new strips and modern reinventions of the classic humour strips that form part of Rebellion and the Treasury of British Comics archive. That means there’s room in there for Kid Kong, Steel Commando, Draculass, Gums, Frankie Stein, Hire A Horror, and so many more that older readers will have enjoyed back in the 70s plus new strips such as Hell’s Angel and Witch Vs Warlock.

Launched back in 2022 as a bi-monthly comic for subscribers and available from all good newsagents, Monster Fun’s now ready to make the big move to monthly with the June 2023 Dino-Scare Special.

According to editor Keith Richardson, the move comes as a response to readers, children, parents, and longtime fans, as well as impressive sales…

“We’ve always known Monster Fun was special and once we started to outsell other comic titles on shelves last year within our first few issues, we knew Monster Fun needed to step up the frequency.

In fact, over the last twelve months we’ve had so many readers get in touch via email and social media asking for more issues; and so many of us being parents ourselves we know moving to a monthly schedule fits in far better around busy family life. So just like our very own Frankie Stein, going monthly became a no-brainer!” – Keith Richardson – Editor, Monster Fun

The Monster Fun Dino-Scare Special arrives in newsagents across the UK on 7th June 2023, followed by the Horror Holiday Special on 5th July 2023.

You can (and should) also subscribe at the Monster Fun website, where you can also get hold of individual issues.
