Ascendant Studios Shows Off Gameplay For “Immortals of Aveum”

Developer Ascendant Studios revealed a six-minute First Look gameplay trailer for their upcoming game, Immortals of Aveum. Originally revealed during The Game Awards 2022, Immortals of Aveum is a single-player, first-person shooter set in a magical universe.

The lengthy trailer goes through a significant portion of a level, showing off some of the enemies in the game as well as some puzzle-solving elements that eventually lead to a boss fight. For a game describing itself as “Call of Duty but with magic”, it looks to be a far more narrative-driven game than the largely multiplayer-focused efforts coming out of Activision these days.

While the title looks stunning, it looks as though that comes at a price. The developer has also recently confirmed the game’s PC specs and they’re … certainly something.

On top of being a 100+ GB download that “strongly recommends a SSD”, the game also requires one of the most expensive GPUs on the market just to run at 1440p and 60 FPS on Medium/High settings. With most PC players not having anywhere near a strong enough rig to run this, it’s likely console will be the primary place to play this game.

Immortals of Aveum releases for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and EA on July 20th.
