SDCC 2023: Nostalgic LEGO Booth Is An Homage To Entertainment

by Gary Catig

Who would have thought that Blockbuster Video would have so much attention at San Diego Comic-Con. We already knew that the store would be involved in Funkoville. Well, LEGO has also used the theme for their booth on the exhibit floor.

The toy company wanted an homage to entertainment while also evoking nostalgia. They thought that Blockbuster would be the perfect fit. LEGO’s various brands such as Marvel and Star Wars are already movie themed and brick versions of the various cover art would be a fun way to decorate. In addition, they have display cases that create the classic cardboard cut-out feel.

In addition, visitors could receive closer looks at some of their most recent products. LEGO will have a few new Star Wars sets including a pair of tie-ins to the upcoming Ahsoka series. There is Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle.

As well as the New Republic E-Wing vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter set. Both this set and Ahsoka’s shuttle have a release date of September 1, 2023.

To cap off the newly announced Star Wars sets is a statue figure of Chewbacca.

Elsewhere, there will be a new BrickHeadz set with Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails.
