For quite some time, I’ve heard positive things about a recent YA Fantasy release. It’s called Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. Most people who brought it to my attention described the writer as the next J.K. Rowling. My eyes would often widen at the mention, but when I heard her speak at Book Con 2018, I fell in love with her commentary. I immediately added the book to my TBR list on Goodreads.
Last week, Tonight Show host, Jimmy Fallon put a call out for fans to vote on his Summer read. He wished for everyone to read the winning book together. Children of Blood and Bone was on that list. As someone who was hoping to read the book, and who loves social media book clubs, I was thrilled with the results. Take a look:
What I love about this is, Jimmy Fallon has now drawn attention for the people who maybe don’t browse the Young Adult book section as often as I do! Whether or not Tomi Adeyemi is the next J.K. Rowling has yet to be seen. Time will only tell if the Children of Blood and Bone series does as well as the Harry Potter series. With all that said, it should be fun to read the book together.
