‘The Film That Never Was’ – Gibson’s Aliens 3 Script Coming To Dark Horse Comics

Writer/artist Johnnie Christmas and Tamara Bonvillain (on colours) are the team tasked with adapting author William Gibson’s unproduced screenplay for Alien 3 into comics this November 7th from Dark Horse Comics. It’s going to be a five issue mini-series and here’s the skinny on the series:

Following the deadly events of Aliens, the Union of Progressive Peoples intercepts the spaceship carrying the hibernating bodies of Ripley, Hicks, Newt, and Bishop. But unbeknownst to them, they have also picked up another deadly passenger whose discovery will unleash a race between two governments to weaponize the xenomorph in this horrifying and poignant Cold War-themed thriller.

It’s the film that never was from the founding father of cyberpunk and that alone is an interesting enough reason for me to pick it up. As I imagine it will be others too. Here’s preview of the forthcoming comic courtesy of Dark Horse:
