ToyFair 2019: Hasbro Celebrates 80 Years of Marvel With Special Wave & More

by Gary Catig

This weekend at Toy Fair New York, Hasbro had a giant presentation previewing their upcoming products spanning several different brands. Included were all the action figures from the six-inch Marvel Legends lines. There were usual waves like Avengers, Spider-Man and X-men along with a few surprises. There was also a special wave to celebrate 80 years of Marvel.

With a new Avengers film coming out later this year, they have several waves related to the movie. Many of the figures we already know from previous conventions and shows but two more additions were revealed. There will be a Shuri figure with the likeness of Letitia Wright and from the Serpent Society, Rock Python.

Joining the vehicle line in Fall 2019 will be Captain America WWII figure and motorcycle.

Also coming Fall 2019 is an X-Force wave with Boom Boom, Cannonball, Mister Sinister and Nightcrawler.

Since Spider-Man: Far From Home is due out this summer, there will be a new Spider-Man wave. It will include Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman, Spider-Man Stealth Suit, Scorpion, Spider-Man Hero Suit, Hydro Man and Doppelganger. This wave will come out to coincide with the movie in Summer 2019.

There will also be an X-Men Retro wave out Fall 2019. There will be 6 figures total and at the show, they revealed four of them including Cyclops, Dazzler, Silver Samurai and Wolverine.

Finally, to celebrate 80 years of the comic company, there will be figures spanning the history of Marvel including the comics and films. There will be special two-packs of Iron Man & Iron Spider, Captain America & Peggy Carter, Grandmaster & Korg, Colossus & Juggernaut, Ghost & Luis, Wolverine & Hulk and Hela & Skurge. There will also be Iron Man, Captain America and Thor in their classic looks. This wave will be out Fall 2019.

There was a lot revealed during the presentation and it will take time to process. Some figures I’m more excited for than others but the Grandmaster and Luis are on the top of my list.
