Rasputin And Ralph Fiennes Plan For War In The King’s Man Teaser

20th Century Fox has released a teaser for the upcoming Kingsman prequel The King’s Man. In it, Ralph Fiennes (as T.E. Lawrence!) lectures about the futility of open war as we are shown scenes of World War I battlefields. We also see Rasputin (Rhys Ifans) doing his thing over in the Russian theater. All of it seems to be in the service of indoctrinating a new Kingsman into the secret service … but isn’t The King’s Man about the agency’s origins? Also, can we just skip to the Rasputin fight? The mad monk really needs to be the antagonist in more movies.

The film stars Fiennes, Ifans, Harris Dickson, Liam Neeson, Daniel Brühl, and Gemma Arterton as Mata Hari. Considering the film is filled with pretty people playing historically significant persons, this may be more interesting than anything in the mainline Kingsman cycle, even if all of the films are the work of director Matthew Vaughn.

The King’s Man is set for release on February 14th, 2020.
